The deployment of WLANs (Wireless Local Area Networks) on campuses can significantly change traditional teaching practices, extending learning space into every corner of the campus by providing campus-wide Internet access. Cipherium M-series Network Access Controllers facilitates staff and students to connect to Internet networks at times and places of their choosing to access teaching materials and creates a variety of teaching opportunities in a dynamic "Any Time, Any Place Learning" environment.

Cipherium Network Access Controllers associated with Cipherium Manageable Access Points provide a perfect solution to problems frequently occurring in building up wireless networks on large-scale or multi-site campuses, such as bandwidth control and authorized network access. Cipherium's solution secures the user's private information with authentication methods and provides different user groups with different level of network services (e.g. bandwidth, time schedule) via authorization policies.

For those who are not ready for full wireless network rollout, Cipherium's solution allows educational institutions to start off establishing a WLAN with one Network Access Controller in a single location such as the library, and to scale up their network deployments when needed by combining with other Controllers to serve hundreds or thousands of users across multiple locations. Each Controller can function as an independent network manager or be configured to remotely manage other Controllers for total centralized management of a large-scale environment.
